Cigarette smoking should be banned in cars is what conscious citizens are advocating. Legislation to this effect is in vogue in some countries and in some states of United States. Youngsters below 18 should not be exposed to the smoke. It is hoped that legislation would be brought into effect wherever it is non-existent. The idea is to protect the children from inhaling the smoke. Some feel it is infringement of rights, but those who do not favor smoking feel it is in the best interest of the citizens.
Smoking in cars should be banned, as it is dangerous to health and also hazardous. Non-smokers are forced to inhale the smoke of others. Tobacco, for example, is a major single cause of death and illness in the UK. Passive smokers face the risk of serious health problems.
- To protect children from the hazardous smoke of cigarettes
- To curtail smoking as it is bad for health
- To protect passive smokers
- Levels of smoke particles are much higher in a car as the windows are closed
- A car is much worse than a smoky bar
- Those who inhale the smoke can suffer from illnesses such as asthma, cancer and miscarriages later in life
- To extend further the banning of smoking in public places
